AFTERCARE
Love Your New Piercing? Here’s How to Care for It.

Cleaning Instructions:
Spray your new piercing morning and night with our favorite Active Skin Repair solution. For deeper cleaning, use a gentle compress of sterile saline on a non-woven sterile gauze for five minutes in the morning and evening. Continue this routine daily until your piercing is fully healed.
It’s normal to notice some dry build-up around the piercing—gentle compresses and light cleaning will help remove it. A good practice is to stand under a warm shower and let the water rinse your piercing, then gently dry it afterward.

Aftercare Precautions:
- Be mindful when washing or styling your hair, putting on or removing clothing, and sleeping.
- Take care during strenuous exercise in the days right after your piercing.
- Do not remove your jewelry during the healing period—your piercing will begin to close immediately.
- Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools or freshwater lakes during the first week of healing.
- Do not clean your piercing with alcohol, Neosporin, or Bactine. Stick to sterile saline solution only.

Flatback Aftercare Specifics
Your new flatback piercing will probably require a post downsize. We typically pierce with an 8mm length post and recommend downsizing to a 6mm post once swelling has reduced. We offer a post change out kit that comes with your choice of post size, a threader to assist, as well as instructions. You can also book a changeout appointment with a Piercd Provider near you.
